UNN is still number one research university in Nigeria and an improved No 17 in Africa Jul 16 (11 days ago) Dear All, WEBOMETRICS just published the ranking of Universities today (15-07-2017) based on the quality and impact of their publications as evidenced by their citations in Google Scholar. http://www.webometrics.info/en /node/169 It is my pleasure to announce that UNN is still number one (1) in Nigeria and has improved to number 17 in Africa. Its world ranking has also improved to 1405. University of Ibadan came a distant 2 nd  in Nigeria, 27 th  in Africa and 1755 in the world. Other Nigerian universities were ranked very lowly! Congrats to the VC and the administration for encouraging top quality scholarly work in UNN. Congrats to all UNN staff members for the achievement!!!
